5-Stand Seminar

We are taking the mystery out of shooting 5-stand at Delaware County Field and Stream.  This seminar is designed to keep it simple by using what you know about shooting Trap, Skeet, Table trap, even bird hunting and adapting those skills to 5-stand.  You will become familiar with the basics:

• General terminology of the game
• Target preparation in the stand
• Break-point, hold-point, focal point when shooting targets
• Setting up for report pairs and true pairs
• Shooting specialty targets
  • Teal
  • Chondell
  • Battue
  • Rabbits

Two 2-day sessions are available for 10 people per session.  Session 1, January 17^th & 24^th and Session 2, January 31^st & February 7^th.  All classes will be for 2 hours, beginning at 9:30am in Martin House.  Shooters will have to purchase three (3) 5-Stand tickets prior to the class.  Minimum of 75 rounds of 7 ½ or 8 shot shells required which can be purchased at club office.  Shooting after class for attendees will be available, additional tickets will be required.  The sessions are limited to members of DCFS and one guest from their family.  Club office opens at 9:00am, please take care of guest registration before arriving for the class.  This class is not intended for first time shooters.

This is a not a coaching session, it is meant to prepare you to learn to shoot one of the most challenging disciplines of clay target shooting.  If you want to challenge yourself, come learn this exciting game.
